Jewellery

“Contemporary-art specialist Jay Jopling admires the work of Alexandra Jefford so much that he recently gave her his gallery space at White Cube Mason’s Yard to launch her latest collection [...]. Jefford trained in Fine Art at Central St Martins, before going on to do a technical design course that inspired her interest in Jewellery. “Jewellery blends together my interest in art — sculpting, etching and design; I think the purest colours are found in gemstones.” Her Night & City brooches, in white and yellow gold with black Rhodium and diamonds, were inspired by a surrealist exhibition at the Hayward Gallery. Jefford says “I like designing pieces that are modern and make an impact, but I use gems that have been around forever.”
